FENSA Registered Company and Approved Installers
Cor-Line Systems Ltd is now a FENSA registered company & installer, which means every installation we carry out meets the legal standards for replacing windows and doors in the UK.
FENSA is the government-authorised scheme that monitors building regulation compliance for window and door installations. Choosing a FENSA installer protects you as a homeowner and removes the hassle of dealing with building control yourself.
What this means for you
-
Compliance with Building Regulations
-
Your installation is automatically certified and meets UK building standards.
-
Proof for when you sell your home
You receive a FENSA certificate — solicitors now ask for this as standard during conveyancing.
-
Work covered by an Insurance-Backed Guarantee
-
So even if the installer stopped trading, your installation is still protected.
-
Registered work with your Local Authority
No need to apply for separate building control sign-off.
Why it matters
Without a FENSA certificate, you may face problems selling your property or be forced to pay for retrospective inspections and certificates. Using a non-registered installer often looks cheaper upfront, but can create expensive legal issues later.
With Cor-Line Systems, you don’t need to worry about that. Every qualifying installation is certified, guaranteed, and legally compliant from day one.

FENSA FAQ
Do I need FENSA for new builds?
No. FENSA only applies to replacement windows and doors in existing homes. New builds are signed off by building control as part of the main construction.
Does FENSA cover aluminium windows and doors?
Yes. FENSA is about Building Regulations compliance, not the material. Aluminium, uPVC, timber, and composite all qualify as long as they are replacement frames in a dwelling.
Are bifold doors and sliding doors covered?
Yes, if they replace an existing external door opening in a domestic property. If you’re creating a brand-new opening, that falls under building control and isn’t FENSA certified.
Are rooflights, lanterns or skylights covered by FENSA?
No. FENSA doesn’t cover anything installed in the roof. These items need building control sign-off or approval from your contractor.
Can I get a FENSA certificate after the work is finished?
Only if the work was originally completed by a FENSA-registered installer who registered the job. FENSA cannot retrospectively certify work carried out by a non-registered company.
What if I’ve lost my certificate?
You can order a replacement copy directly from FENSA’s website. There’s a small admin fee, but it’s a quick process and can be done online.
Do I need a FENSA certificate to sell my house?
Yes, if replacement windows or doors have been fitted since 2002. Solicitors now request it as standard. Without it, you may have to pay for indemnity insurance or retrospective approval.
Is FENSA the same as CERTASS?
Both are Competent Person Schemes, but FENSA is the most widely recognised by solicitors, estate agents and lenders. CERTASS is similar but less commonly requested in property sales.
Does FENSA mean the installation is guaranteed?
FENSA includes an Insurance-Backed Guarantee (IBG) for replacement windows and doors. This protects you even if the installer stops trading. The IBG is separate from the manufacturer’s product warranty.
